NSCDC RECEIVES ROYAL BLESSINGS TO SUCCEED ON ITS CORE – MANDATE

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command has received the royal blessings of His Royal Majesty, Igwe Romanus Iloh, (Ise Nise), the traditional ruler of Nise town, Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State on the responsibility placed on it as the lead agency in safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
The traditional ruler bestowed his blessings on the Corps during a condolence visit by the State Commandant, Comdt. Maku, to the palace in Nise on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The visit was to commiserate with the royal family over the demise of Prince Azubuike Iloh, the crown prince of Nise.
Igwe Iloh praised the Corps’ efforts in maintaining law and order, providing protection for critical national, state and local government assets ranging from oil pipelines, telecommunication masts, electrical installations, railways among others and urged them to continue their good work. He also assured the Corps of the support and cooperation of Nise town in ensuring the success of NSCDC activities in the state.
Earlier in his speech, Comdt. Maku expressed his deep condolences over the death of the crown prince, whom he described as a kind and loving individual. He prayed against the reoccurrence of such sudden death in the royal family and briefed the traditional ruler on the Corps’ recent activities, including the Anti Sit-at-home order operations , series of arrests of illegal miners, impostors of private security outfits and criminal elements, many of whom are presently facing prosecution while others have been convicted and sentenced to various jail terms.
The State Commandant commended the traditional institution for their support to NSCDC and sought further collaboration to stamp out criminal elements, vandals and economic saboteurs from Anambra State.
This royal blessing is a tremendous boost to the morale of the NSCDC personnel in Anambra State, and the Corps is grateful for the support and encouragement of the traditional ruler.
