The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has celebrated the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun on his diamond jubilee anniversary, which coincided with the extension of his stewardship as the IGP.

The congratulatory wishes are contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Association, Mr. Eric Elezuo, which eulogised the dexterity and focus with which the number one cop has brought into policing since he was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023.

“The Association celebrates you on your 60th birthday, and the presidential confirmation of authority backing your completion of four years in office as stipulated in your letter of appointment, and confirmed by the National Assembly.

“We are proud to identify with your loyalty to the people, the Police, your immediate constituency and the government of the day. Your efficiency on the job as well as the dexterity, commitment and focus with which you have carried out your duties are testament of the fact that you know your onions on the job.

“We wish you a happy birthday and God’s wherewithal to continue to accomplish your tasks as a public officer and a family man with the fear of God and respect for humanity,” the statement noted.

The statement also quoted the President of the Association, Mr. Oki O. Samson, as specially conveying a message of agility, poise and intelligence, to the IGP, noting that he has lived up to expectation, bringing down crime and criminality to the barest minimum within his short period of stewardship.

“I celebrate you sir, not only as a family man marking his 60th birthday, but also an accomplished senior policeman, who has given his all to ensure security and safety of all and sundry. You have lived up to expectations sir. Congratulations,” Mr. Oki reverred.

IGP Egbetokun was appointed in June 2023 to serve a period of four years in office. Much as his stay in the force was supposed to terminate on his 60th birthday, September 4, 2024, he was permitted, based on an Act of Parliament, to complete his four-year term.
